Why did you need help with your job search?

I spent nearly two years in an executive position, which was eliminated after the sale of the company’s European interests. The new owner already had management in Hungary, so the Managing Director role was rationalised within the merged organisation.

What did you think you could get out of this personal executive job search program?

At first, I had no specific idea of how the program would work; I just wanted to find a solution as soon as possible to get back into the world of work. After a long time, it was a very strange and frustrating feeling to have nowhere to go, to have the ground pulled out from under my feet after previously being a top executive. I hadn’t been in the job market for 25 years, so I had no idea what opportunities were available. Moving to the other side of the table, the initial picture was quite discouraging.

What did you get out of this program in practice? What were the most important things that helped you?

I never would have imagined what I got out of it, and it is quite difficult to list. Due to my circumstances, the separation was a known fact, only the date was uncertain, so the first thing I got was advice on how to prepare for the separation professionally in order to get the most out of the situation.

In addition, we completely rewrote my CV, mapped out the possibilities, and structured how interviews should go, from body language to examples. Of course, in addition to the theory, there was also practice, meaning quite a few interview situations that we discussed to see where I could improve and what to pay attention to in a given situation.

How satisfied are you with the result?

I managed to find a job in less than four months. I really enjoyed the program; every meeting with Sándor gave me a new boost, and the tasks, aside from being part of the path to success, also kept me busy in my suddenly free time.
